The last day at BUTFF passed under the sound of constant sobbing. Some sobbed because the festival was ending, others because “we sold out” at the market, yet others because they sold out their family fortune at the market, and some others just had a cold. Get a tissue, goddamnit.
“The mainstream always bothers us. Absentees throw a spanner in the works so that filtering becomes necessary. A witch intentionally forgets to cover a smoke detector at the Metal Night. The BUT-alarm goes off but the audience counts on it to be part of the performance.“
Ew. What a gross title. Hate that.
“Payback time! God does not have to judge because we will do that ourselves, as we are judge, jury, and executioner. Rapists, terrorists, slave owners, Nazis, paedophiles, cult leaders, drug dealers, pimps, crimelords, annoying neighbours, crying babies, spoiled brats, people who double park - not in my neighbourhood!”
That’s Revenge BUTFF, baby!
Uhm-ahm, where to start. Perhaps with lunchtime: on Thursday we served one of the goriest, most hard-to-watch, female revenge movies of all times (this opinion is supported by a vox populi of many BUT movie fans). At 14:30 in Chasse Cinema, you could watch “I Spit on Your Grave”. A good picture to get your mind off work during lunch break, just don’t get too many ideas.
Every year, we recognize and celebrate the upcoming and established BUT talents during our award ceremony. The crowned heroes get access to the Nieuwe Veste cellar where they throw particular rituals under the cover of night… Just kidding, we’re not the Illuminati, but we have very pretty awards and a few lifetimes of admiration.

As a dancemaker, Ploumi always performs her own creations, strongly inclining towards performance art. Her work is characterized by intense physical activity combined with theatrical elements. "knocking on my mind" is a work developed especially for the BUTFF 2022, in which obsession and de(con)struction reside.
