Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island and William Golding's Lord of the Flies turn into a gender-bending Freudian nightmare in this highly stylized film, in which a group of teenage rapists is sent to a mysterious island where nothing is what it seems. The style of the film is heavily inspired by the cinema of the 1910's, 20's and 30's, but with a darker, psychedelic, sexual twist.
