In the saliva-saturated Sputum world, an ugly class struggle is unfolding. The ruling Antique depend on the saliva of the Untermensch Bakelites to
survive an invisible, buzzing, fungus cloud. With invasive, saliva milking machines and an addictive rot powder, they enforce a status quo. But when the Bakelite rebellion led by Jimin Blyth gets help from aristocratic Antique deserter Kalta Crux, their future takes a new turn.
Cultfilm is glad to present the cinematographic work of Dan Geesin, an artist currently residing in the Netherlands. SPUTUM played at Imagine film festival and NFF, but was released without drawing the attention it deserved. Grab the bull by the horns, and see this unique piece of Lo-Fi Sci-Fi on a big screen in the proper futuristic environment.

In de door eco-rampen geteisterde Sputum-wereld is een grimmige klassenstrijd gaande. De heersende klasse, de Antieken, hebben een manier gevonden om te overleven aan een dodelijke schimmel. Zij tappen het speeksel af van de onderworpen Bakkelieten, die gevangen zitten in een luguber systeem. Tót er iemand opstaat en de verhoudingen op scherp komen te staan. Gefilmd in contrastrijk zwart-wit creëert kunstenaar en filmmaker Dan Geesin een duister universum met een eigen vocabulaire, en een sinistere soundtrack.
Cultfilm is blij om het filmische werk van een in Nederland opererende kunstenaar en filmmaker te presenteren. SPUTUM draaide op het Imagine Film Festival, en bij het NFF, maar de release ging zonder de verdiende aandacht voorbij. Grijp je kans met de eerste cultfilm van 2023 om deze unieke Lo-Fi Sci-Fi op het grote doek, en in de juiste
futuristische setting te bekijken.
