BUT Awards
Every year, we hand out several Awards to celebrate the BUTtest feature film, the BUTtest short film, and the most BUTtiful performances. We also give out a special award to a personality whose accomplishments stand out in our genres.

Super Awesome Award

Awarded by the BUTFF 2026 veteran organisers. Formerly known as the ‘Groundbreaker Award’, the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ and ‘BUTtiful Acting Award’, this is our prize to honour the cinematographic achievements of our guest(s).
 

BUTest Performance Award
Awarded by BUT’s poets & performance programmers.

 

This year’s jury for the BUTtest Feature- and Short Award is:
 

Christian Genzel
Austrian filmmaker, film journalist, and podcaster. He has written and directed several independent films and documentaries, including The Muse and Finding Planet Porno, and hosts the Lichtspielplatz podcast, where he dives deep into cult cinema, film history, and thematic retrospectives.

 

Lucía Forner Segarra
Spanish director and screenwriter known for her striking visual style and sharp, dark humor. Her acclaimed short films, such as Dana, have screened at numerous international genre festivals, earning accolades for their powerful storytelling and distinct, uncompromising edge.

 

Paco Fox
Spanish writer, director, and one of the core organizers of Madrid's infamous CutreCon film festival. Heavily rooted in trash culture, he is known for co-directing the sci-fi comedy Cine Basura: La Película and co-hosting the popular Cine Basura television program, making him a dedicated champion of underground and bizarre cinema.
